Analyst Q&A 1
Local chip centers and satellite security
Q (Matthew Galinko · Maxim Group): He asked whether the Quantix Edge deal is a useful validation to win more local personalization projects. He also asked if WISeKey will take bigger ownership in those projects and who the launch partners are for a planned 100-satellite constellation.
A: Carlos said the Murcia joint venture is already generating revenue: WISeKey invested EUR 10 million, the Spanish government EUR 20 million and a local startup EUR 10 million, and partners are buying WISeKey's technology, chips and machines. He said WISeKey can take larger economic stakes because those projects are relatively small—between $40 million, $50 million per country—and they are targeting countries including South Korea, Japan and the U.S. He said they mainly launch satellites with SpaceX, also work with smaller launchers like Sky Root and PLD, and the focus is adding post-quantum security to existing and national constellations rather than building thousands of satellites.
"I mean we are talking between $40 million, $50 million per country." — Carlos Moreira (CEO)
