Analyst Q&A 1
Q1 upside, ASPs, and pro channel
Q (Alex Ewig · Lake Street): They asked why Q1 net sales grew 32% versus the prior guidance, whether that was timing or pull-forward, and what the back half assumes about demand. They also asked how much ASP gains were mix versus price and whether ASPs will hold, and asked about the long-term opportunity in the professional channel.
A: He pointed back to the full year and said after a great start with outperformance in Q1 the year will be steadier and smoother and still 7% growth. For ASPs he said some was mix (calling out the 1854) but much was from limited promotions and they expect those ASP levels to continue. On the professional channel he said they're pleased with law enforcement performance, the academy investments are paying dividends, it's a longer sales cycle, and they have a nice pipeline into the back half.
"So it's still up significantly versus last year to 7% growth, pretty happy with that, and it's going to be smoother this year than it was last." — Mark Smith (CEO)
