Analyst Q&A 2
age gating in supplemental PMTAs; FDA timing
Q (Nicholas Anderson): The analyst asked if companies are adding IKE's age-gating technology into supplemental PMTAs and whether those talks have accelerated. He also asked why FDA approvals seem faster and if ISPR's timing expectations have changed.
A: Management said IKE has talked with every player that has an authorized end device, and some talks have moved to pilot evaluations. They are seeing a lot of interest in amending PMTAs to include their modular age gating technology and think there may be a pathway to a supplemental with perhaps 1 or 2 players in a couple of weeks or months. On FDA timing, they cited Director [ Colo ]'s comments that applications are moving more quickly, a 3-week filing period for new finished product applications, and that the agency cleared a backlog of the millions of PMTAs, so they expect good results in the next several months.
"We are seeing also a lot of interest in amending PMTAs to include our modular age gating technology here." — Steven Przybyla (PRESIDENT)
manufacturing capacity, production, and customers
Q (Owen Bennett · U.S. Bancorp. BTIG): He asked whether the manufacturing investment is added capacity and what the finished capacity will be. He also asked what is already being produced or contracted and how confident management is about getting more contracts, and whether new deals are more pouch or vape.
A: Management said the investment is planned capacity, staged and contingent on licenses they secured in March and May, and includes automation and workforce spending. The second factory can fit up to 73 lines; with automated lines running in 2 or 3 shifts, capacity is in the hundreds of millions. They would not forecast revenue yet but said they did pilot runs, delivered initial orders and got reorders, pouch production began in June, and they see interest from both pouch (mainly tobacco majors) and vapor (mainly Chinese brands/manufacturers); deals start small and should mature over the next 3 to 6 months.
"In terms of capacity itself, that second factory can fit up to 73 lines." — Steven Przybyla (PRESIDENT)
