Analyst Q&A 4
gaming growth, NIM, reserves, and hires
Q (Joe Yanchunis · Raymond James): He asked what would count as a successful year for the gaming initiatives in 2027 (deposits, slot machines, transaction activity). He also asked how much of the NIM gain was structural, asset sensitivity to 100 basis points, reserve build expectations, and the status of the CFO search and other hires.
A: Management said they will measure gaming success by growth in deposits and will report deposit progress and milestones each quarter; Distill launched in September, Terrible's starts in November, and AXES integration begins end of this year. They said NIM is asset sensitive and prime repricing affects the next quarter; they noted specific floating balances and plans to hire experienced bankers to grow loans and deposits in Las Vegas. On reserves they said allowance moved from 2.8 to 2.6, cited specific reserve and CECL amounts, and said they have three CFO candidates in process.
"We have 800 million in assets that float, so adjustable basically monthly after the adjustment in the Prime, and then 300 million deposits that float." — Jeff Newgard (CEO)
delinquencies, SBA sale timing, expense drivers
Q (Matthew Erdner · JonesTrading): He asked how much of the early-stage delinquencies can be worked through soon and whether guaranteed versus non-guaranteed loans differ. He also asked about the timing impact on gain-on-sale from originations and whether the gain-on-sale margin and higher salary expense are sustainable.
A: Management said early recognition is key and that early-stage past due is down to about $2 million; they also have about $10 million in OREO they expect to remove. They said an SBA SOP change prevents selling loans in the same month they are originated, which will push some December gains into January and affect fourth-quarter gain-on-sale timing, though interest income will accrue while loans remain on the books. They noted gain-on-sale margin improved from 5.04% to 5.57%, called the pipeline robust and the process tuned, and said salary increases included $520,000 in severance plus higher commissions from strong originations.
"That is going to impact gain on sale in December because those originations that are done in December are then going to get pushed to January." — Jeff Newgard (CEO)
loan growth, local lending, gain-on-sale margins
Q (Tim Coffey · Brean Capital): He asked what a normalized annual loan growth rate looks like for the company and where the bank can grow loans locally in Las Vegas. He also asked what a reasonable normalized gain-on-sale level would be.
A: Management said normalized loan growth should be roughly consistent with past results and gave a band of 10% to 15%. They said low-hanging lending opportunities are the local business community, medical services, and contractors, and that many relationships already exist to tap. For gain-on-sale they said a reasonable range is about 5% to 5.5%, up to 6%.
"I would say in that 5% to 5.5%, 6% range is reasonable." — Jeff Newgard (CEO)
gaming FinTech launches and adoption
Q (Todd Nigro): No analyst question here; instead the speaker provided closing updates on product launches and integration progress and shared early adoption and scale details.
A: Management reported Distill launched in September and has seen early adoption (5% of patrons as primary loading, 10% among top club members). They described Terrible's scale (3,000 machines, 300 licensed locations, about $1 billion transaction equivalent value annually) and said AXES technical integration completes in December to enable 2027 launches. They also said LuckyLoads has technical delays and is expected in 2027, and that multiple integrations and infrastructure work are underway to drive deposit growth.
