Analyst Q&A 3
Why reimbursement discounts improved
Q (Thomas Flaten · Lake Street Capital): They asked why the GTN discount was more favorable than expected. They also asked how much EXXUA uses RxConnect and why the ADHD portfolio grew sequentially.
A: Management said the main reason is a higher-than-anticipated approval rate across commercial payers. They said the titration pack approval is lower but 30-count prescriptions came in at a higher approval rate, and government business now represents well north of 20%, 25% of the business. They said RxConnect dispensed claims are growing; when looking at dispensed claims for ADHD, in any given month, upwards of 80% of total prescriptions are dispensed through an RxConnect partner or the program.
"In short, it's just a higher-than-anticipated approval rate really across commercial payers." — Joshua Disbrow (CEO)
Prior authorization approvals and contracts
Q (Nazibur Rahman · Maxim Group): They asked whether prior authorizations are getting approved first pass or require multiple back-and-forths. They also asked when the next large bolus of payments from commercial or government payers might arrive and which would come first.
A: Management said prior authorization work is early but approval rates are quite high and the physician process is simple via a vendor. If you look at the success with claims submitted through the program, it's in the neighborhood of 70%. On coverage, they said they expect coverage to evolve organically, are not proactively signing large government or commercial contracts, and noted RxConnect limits commercial patient cost to no more than $50 on the claim.
"If you look at the success we're having with claims that are submitted sort of through the program, it's in the neighborhood of 70%." — Joshua Disbrow (CEO)
Sales reps target and ramp time
Q (Edward Woo · Ascendiant Capital): They asked what sales rep headcount target is in about 6 months and how quickly reps hit stride. They also asked whether the reported 3,000 prescriptions for the quarter include refills.
A: Management said headcount goals are dictated by cash flow and they plan a footprint materially higher than 42 or 49, but they did not give a fixed target or timing. They said a rep is adequately tooled in about 6 to 9 months and breakeven may be closer to 9 or 12 months. They confirmed the 3,000 prescriptions for the quarter includes refills and starter/titration packs.
"6 to 9 months realistically is a good timeframe to really think of somebody as sort of adequately tooled for the job." — Joshua Disbrow (CEO)
