Analyst Q&A 1
Gate-all-around progress and other tech updates
Q (Richard Shannon): He asked for progress and milestones on gate-all-around and why the third customer became active. He also asked about DRAM timing, the IQE GaN partnership, RF-SOI production readiness and Prima applications, and whether headcount will grow next year.
A: Scott said they have shown MST integrated on an example gate-all-around device and are working with "3 out of 4" customers — they are in close integration with "2" and one is earlier — with milestones like physical device checks, electrical results and diffusion blocking. He said DRAM work is still relatively early and that Prima wafer solutions make evaluation easier; on GaN he said IQE sees promise and the work is shorter-term rather than multiyear. Scott said the RF-SOI technical solution is "pretty well proven" but they need higher MST throughput (possibly using atmospheric tools) for high-volume production; Francis said they don't plan headcount increases now but may add operators for onsite installs, and that inflation and supply-chain strain raise variable costs.
"So yes, I'd just say that with 2 of our customers, we're at the point where we're in the midst of that." — Scott Bibaud (CEO)
