Analyst Q&A 2
U.S. VASCEPA volume and pricing
Q (Jessica Fye · JP Morgan): She asked why branded prescription growth was not in the press release and how U.S. script volume growth fits with the year-over-year revenue decline. She also asked about the U.S. price trajectory over the coming quarters.
A: Management said branded VASCEPA volume was stable and relatively flat, and that the revenue decline was due to pricing pressure. They said they expect to maintain exclusives and that pricing should remain relatively consistent through the end of this year. They have not given guidance on 2027 and said they have seen continued pricing pressure and would anticipate that to continue into 2027.
"We have seen that continued pricing pressure over previous years and would anticipate that to continue into 2027." — Pete Fishman (CFO)
Europe reimbursement and new IPE uses
Q (Paul Choi · Goldman Sachs): He asked for updates on reimbursement and coverage in major European markets. He also asked what criteria they consider for additional IPE therapeutic uses and whether they will look for a partner to co-fund future development.
A: They said the Recordati partnership covers 59 countries and Recordati is pursuing a much broader set of markets than Amarin could have on its own; Recordati has launched in Poland and there is public activity in France, though the reimbursement process is lengthy. On other clinical uses, they said EMT2 data is promising for colorectal cancer and they will collaborate with researchers, assess commercial opportunity, unmet need, existing data and protection, and be disciplined about sharing or partnering once they identify a path.
"They're not just focusing on the major markets in Western Europe, but much broader than we at Amarin could have ever executed on our own." — Aaron Berg (CEO)
